Throughout our lives we make
choices. With each choice come
consequences that are tied to each decision.
There’s one choice that many people don’t like to think about. It’s the question of eternity in relation to
God. Whether we like it or not we will
need to make a choice regarding whether we will place our faith in an unseen
God or not. It’s not enough to simply
believe in Him, for frankly, He didn’t give us that option.
Man has the tendency to
compare themselves to others around them, especially when it comes to eternal
issues. Surely they must be bound for
heaven for they are a good person; certainly better than Joe or Bill or Jane. In Paul’s letter to the Romans he says we
have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). That’s who we are to
compare ourselves to, our Creator, not another created being.
God offers forgiveness for
all our sins. What He asks in return is
for us to enter into a personal relationship with Him that will last for all
eternity. Without His forgiveness we will
perish. Christ is the bridge which
reestablishes the relationship with God that was broken in the Garden with Adam
& Eve.
